Handhelds, which are also referred to as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) or palmtops, are basically miniaturized computers designed to supplement a desktop or laptop system. Most handhelds operate using a stylus or touchscreen, and are capable of running nearly as many software applications as a standard personal computer.
